The LINC Leadership program began in 2008 as an interactive approach to developing citizen awareness of and engagement in the life of our community.

Quality Experience
MCDOWELL LINC is a monthly series of nine day-long programs involving site visits, presentations and group discussions at various locations within the county. Through these “field classrooms,” participants gain insight into McDowell County’s business, government, civic and cultural sectors.

Awareness
Increase your knowledge of public and community agencies which provide quality-of-life programs, economic development, education, and other services in the county. Unique aspects of our history and culture will be presented, and you will also explore some of today’s issues facing our county and region.

Excellent Learning Environment
Presentations by local resource persons and lively discussions with community and business leaders will provide an enlightening and engaging environment for learning.
